Boarding Services for Your Pet

While the team at Cobblestone Veterinary Hospital is dedicated to delivering quality pet medicine and surgical services to cats and dogs in the Nixa area, we also operate a high-quality boarding and grooming facility. We provide the highest level of care and service to all our clients and their pets.

Our pet boarding facility was created and designed with your pet's comfort, health, and safety in mind. Our boarding kennels are climate-controlled and dogs who are entrusted to our care receive at least two outdoor walks per day. Pet owners are more than welcome to leave items with their pet that will make his or her stay more comfortable. Unless otherwise noted, we will provide boarders with bedding, bowls, a toy, and a bone for puppies. We feed our boarders Science Diet pet food.

If your pet requires a special diet, please feel free to send it with him or her. Our qualified and knowledgeable staff is skilled in medicine administration and managing acute or chronic medical conditions.

Your pet's well-being is a top priority at Cobblestone Veterinary Hospital. Their health and comfort will constantly be attended to and monitored during your pet's entire stay. We have many experienced pet care professionals and veterinarians on the premises.

The Importance of Grooming Your Pet

Your pet's health will benefit from routine grooming. Keeping your cat or dog clean and healthy is an important part of preventive medical care.

Regular grooming will help prevent serious medical problems - not to mention make your pet look, smell, and feel better. By having your pet groomed regularly, you can help detect skin infections and growths before they become a problem.

The following are ways proper grooming (either at home or by us) will benefit your beloved pet:

  • Coat: Dogs require regular bathing to keep their skin and coat healthy, and brushing between baths will get rid of tangles and mats. We recommend brushing your cat weekly to decrease the number of hairballs it ingests. Mats on dogs and cats are painful and can cause skin infections, and matted hair around the hindquarters is especially painful and dangerous.
  • Nails: In general, your dog's nails are too long if you can hear his or her tap-dancing on your floor. For dogs and cats, long nails can get caught in carpet or cause them to slip. Nails left untrimmed can curve around and grow into the feet, causing pain and infection. Regular trimming is an excellent alternative to declawing - and reupholstering your couch.
  • Ears: Ear cleaning is important in preventing infections and pets with hairy ears need extra attention. Healthy ears do not have an odor and look clean, anything different should be examined right away.
  • Eyes: Keep the hair around your pet's eyes clipped short enough so it can see properly. Long hair that dangles into the eyes can cause irritation or damage the cornea. Also, the matter that collects in the corners of eyes should be cleared away regularly (for some pets, daily) so that the debris doesn’t create sores.

At Cobblestone Veterinary Hospital, we offer full-service grooming for cats and dogs. Give us a call today at (417) 725-2273 to schedule a boarding stay or grooming appointment for your pet.
